21-9 Bern 2

From a bridge close to the hostel.

The Parliament was completed in 1902

Just beside parliament, a very popular spot for "homeless" people to hang and get drunk.

Part of parliament just at the top of these stairs and to the left, I found evidence of intravenous drug use.

Nothing illegal going on this side as far I know.

Pretentious arty shot

The view from the rose garden (I don't think anyone was up there to look at roses)

The more modern part of town

There have been bear pits in the city since the late 15th century the present one were built in 1856/57 with extensions and renovations

This one just sat there and waited for tourists to throw food into his mouth, quite sad to watch.

The cathedral is certainly the tallest building in the old part of town.

Berne Historical museum.

What I should have seen in the alps Ibex, marmots and Chamonix

No respect for the past.

I finally got to the cathedral

I climbed the tower.

The hostel was just below Parliament

The hostel had the lockers in the corridor and a light that switched off after 30 seconds. So great fun trying to repack after dark.
