The forecast was for high cloud and we got this.

The Eiger after last night's thunderstorm gets a fresh dusting of snow.

As do Lauberhorn (left) and Tschuggen (right)

Though it quickly melts when the sun hits those peaks.

From the train to Kleine Scheidegg

I think its snow getting blown off the top.

The train goes through a tunnel inside the Eiger. the first stop at 2,865 M allows you to look down part of the north face.

They use the windows as a departure point for rescue missions to climbers on the north face

The second stop at 3,159 M looks out on the Fiescher Glacier

The original idea was to push the train cars up by compressed air

You get off the train and walk about
